Two Surveys You Should Take

In this economic downturn the Snowline Joint Unified School District is looking for ways to cut expenses (click on the link below). The district will receive about $6 million less over the next two years from the state.

Several weeks ago the district held a community forum to come up with ideas. The district has now placed a survey on their website where community members can voice their opinion. Most of the ideas came from that community forum.

After you take that survey, you might want to take the Phelan Pinon Hills Community Service District Survey. The district will be developing a master plan for the parks and is looking for community input.

Would you rather have a pool or a basketball court? Those are the types of questions the CSD wants answered. This survey is quick and easy.

Local Meetings This Week

There will be a Phelan Pinon Hills Community Service District (PPHCSD) meeting tonight at the Phelan community center. These meetings start at 7 pm and usually last until about 9 pm (sometimes later). If you are interested in seeing what is happening with your local water and parks agency, you are welcome to attend.

On Thursday the Friends of the Library will be sponsoring a Mixer for the Phelan and Pinon Hills’ Chamber of Commerce. The event is free and begins at 4:30 pm. Snacks and refreshments will be served.

The Phelan Memorial Library is located at 9898 Clovis Road Phelan CA 92371. The phone number is: (760) 868-3053.

The regular Pinon Hills Chamber meeting will not be held this month, according to Secretary Sandy Young.

Here is some information about the local service district:

Location of Meetings:
The CSD meetings are held at the Phelan Community Center on the east side of Sheep Creek Road between Phelan and Nielson Roads.

Meeting Times:
The meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month. There may be special meetings held on Wednesday nights in between the regularly scheduled meetings as well.
