Sheep Fire boundrySheep Fire boundryResidents are now allowed to return to Wrightwood as firefighters get the upper-hand on the Sheep Fire which has destroyed several homes in the Lytle Creek, Lone Pine and West Cajon Valley areas.

The fire is about 30 percent contained and officials say they are in the mop-up stages. Firefighters are putting out smoldering embers of the fire right now. Lone Pine Canyon and Swarthout Canyons are still closed but residents of Lytle Creek are being allowed in.

Snowline Schools will be open on Wednesday.

Remember there is a Phelan Pinon Hills Community Service District Meeting on Wednesday night at 7 pm. The Phelan and Pinon Hills Chamber of Commerce Mixer will be held Thursday at 4 pm. The Steve Knight community forum will be held after the mixer at 6 pm for those who choose to stay.
