Piñon Hills is an unusual area in that our focus is residents, not commercial activities. We like our lifestyle and want to retain it. While we would welcome a Trader Joe’s store, our first concern is retaining 2.5 acre minimum residential lots, developing horse trails, privacy of individuals, peace and quiet.

Areas around Piñon Hills (Phelan and Wrightwood) have a focus for commercial development, while Piñon Hills has a focus for family lifestyle. Most areas have and want commercial growth, but Piñon Hills does not. The Piñon Hills Chamber of Commerce assists residents to maintain a unique and individualistic private and personal home style on 2.5 acre or larger lots. This is one reason the membership of the Chamber is primarily individual and home-based business.
